The Paris Energy Club
Director: Dr. Saïd Nachet
Hosted by the Tuck Foundation (Fondation Tuck), an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation, the Paris Energy Club brings together leading energy experts and senior representatives from energy companies, governments, international organisations, financial institutions and consulting firms.
The Club’s distinctive value lies in its ability to foster informed, candid and forward-looking dialogue among stakeholders whose perspectives, expertise and responsibilities differ, but who collectively shape the global energy landscape. By bringing together public and private-sector decision-makers, researchers, financial actors and industry specialists, the Club encourages cross-sectoral dialogue, challenges conventional perspectives and promotes a more comprehensive understanding of the strategic issues facing the energy sector.
Its discussions cover a broad range of topics, including energy market outlooks, regional and global energy and climate policies, industry strategies, energy security and geopolitics, technological innovation, and the economic implications of the energy transition.
Building on this approach, the Paris Energy Club has expanded its activities through joint events with leading partner institutions, including the Columbia SIPA Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP), the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), among others. These collaborations broaden the range of expertise represented, enrich the debate and strengthen connections between the Club and the wider international energy policy and research community.
Through its distinctive format, diverse membership and institutional partnerships, the Paris Energy Club aims to serve as a trusted platform for strategic reflection, knowledge sharing and professional dialogue. Its added value is not only in providing access to high-level expertise, but also in enabling participants to connect insights across disciplines and regions, anticipate emerging developments, and develop a more nuanced understanding of the issues shaping energy markets, policies and investment decisions.
The Club organises bi-annual meetings. Each meeting is structured around topical sessions introduced by invited experts, whose contributions provide an analytical foundation for substantive exchanges among participants. Discussions are held under the Chatham House Rule, creating an environment conducive to open, frank and constructive debate. This format enables participants to exchange insights, test assumptions, explore emerging challenges and gain perspectives beyond their own institutional or professional spheres.
Participation is by invitation only, facilitating meaningful interaction among participants with complementary expertise and experience.
